About EAO

A clear commitment to every child we support.

Educate an Orphan exists to help children access education, remain in school and receive the practical support they need to progress.

Our story

It begins with a simple belief: a child’s education should not end because support did.

Educate an Orphan was founded in August 2025 after Muheez Okunade met a young orphan selling water near Iwo Road instead of attending school. EAO began its first academic year with eight children in September 2025 and welcomed twelve more in January 2026.

Mission & vision

Access today. Progress over time. Possibility for the future.

Our mission is to provide educational opportunities and practical support for orphaned and vulnerable children, empowering them with the knowledge, confidence and opportunity to build brighter futures.

Our approach

Support should be considered, consistent and accountable.

The people carrying the work forward.

EAO was founded by Muheez Okunade with a team of volunteers in August 2025. The team works with guardians, schools and supporters to identify needs, deliver support and follow each learner’s progress.

Governance

Trust is built through visible standards.

Our governance, safeguarding and reporting practices are designed to protect children and give supporters a clear view of how the work is carried out.
